Radiographic diagnostics
Picture
Why would your pet need x-rays (radiographs)?
If your pet is sick or has suffered a trauma, radiographs provide a minimally invasive tool to help our doctors diagnose your pet.  Radiographs are also used in general wellness exams to diagnose potential problems before they become serious.  Our doctors may recommend radiographs as part of a diagnostic procedure if your pet is experiencing any health condition or as a preventative measure in a routine senior wellness examination.

At East-West Animal Hospital, we provide digital X-rays using our software. This state-of-the-art veterinary X-ray imaging process gives us superior radiographs of your pet immediately.  This is one of the best veterinary diagnostic tools to detect if your pet has bone fractures, masses or fluid in the chest or abdomen, or possibly bone cancer.  Digital X-rays allow our veterinarians to see your animal’s condition more clearly, which limits the need for additional X-rays.  Generally, your animal is awake during this painless procedure, but if your pet is overly anxious or painful, we will recommend sedation.  During the entire procedure, your fur baby is well cared for by our compassionate staff.

Dental radiographs help distinguish healthy teeth from those that may need to be extracted and identify any abnormalities beneath the gums including root damage, tumors, and abscesses.  Dental radiographs are always performed under general anesthesia.

These digital images are easily transmittable via email if additional radiology consultations are required.
